Pressure sore cases are undoubtedly becoming more complex.  While pressure sores (also called decubitus ulcers by doctors and historically called bed sores by most people) are almost always preventable, proving it is another thing.  Nursing homes are becoming more adept in their documentation to give the impression that excellent care was provided and the defense bar is certainly becoming more skillful in defending these cases. 

In this article, I discuss the prevalence of pressure sores, the legal rights of victims of pressure sores including the types of damages that can be recovered, and some of the more impressive verdicts that have been published.
