Assisted Living Facility Remains Open Despite Efforts by Regulators to Shut it Down

Florida's legal system just can't seem to get out of the news.  Like Virginia and about every other state, assisted living facilities should have a license to operate. A south Florida assisted living facility for disabled youths lost its license after it was found to have admitted dangerous residents and had a pattern of abuse dating back to 2005 when the assisted living facility first opened.  However, the facility and it's lawyers have successfully pursued court actions to remain open. 

Unfortunately I have seen similar patterns in Virginia where facilities are repeatedly sanctioned, yet are never closed down.  To make matters worse many facilities are using arbitration clauses to deny residents and their families the right to sue in court for compensation.
